3rd Ave Shore knows all about Beach Weddings!

Dear one,

As a bride you are full of amazing ways to add some unexpected elements to your wedding. Lets say your wedding is themed around a song that is very special to the two of you. Why not then have the song lyrics displayed on the wall at your reception? Or perhaps you want to have your wedding monogram weaved throughout the day. You can feature it on the door of the ceremony site, to the champagne glasses that are used for your first toast! Your dance floor can be custom with you names and date of the special day. "Just Married" or "Happily ever after" on the back windshield is an awesome way to share your joy with others! I will help you make your own personalized wedding decals, you can't go wrong with the end product.

Thanks for stopping by :)

Congrats on happily ever after!

Why I Believe in 3rd Ave Shore

Being an entrepreneur you have to have  the courage to go out into the world and say "Hey I have this great service or product..and I think it would benefit the quality of your life!"  Well I am definitely not the pushy type..BUT I do believe in my company. That belief and passion drives my focus to building a better and better 3rd Ave Shore Line every day.

You see there was a time when I wanted to stop having work be the largest space in my life and  rather live an inspired  {a hi-5 everyday kinda life!!} life that had my career fit into my passions.  So I took notice to what were the things that brought me pure joy just by doing them. I found that I was subconsciously {back in 2009} doodling and designing surf, vintage, and old school beach designs in all my spare time. I wasn't sure where I was going to place my designs, weather it be clothing or giclee prints {that was my thoughts at the time.}  But knew that I was creating an authentic self career.

My world transformed.

I happened to stumble onto a wall decal website with my girlfriend Emily, and thought {I actually think I blurted it out} I can do that!!!!!  Wall decals were the perfect art form for my audience! It did strike me odd that as I researched more and more wall decal companies, that they were all competing for the same market AND had the SAME designs!!!  I knew in my heart that putting my designs into wall decals was the perfect venue to shipping them world wide and touching my fellow ocean lovers out there.  I have never looked back.

So in a nutshell as to why I believe in 3rd Ave Shore....well it's simple. I love what I do and I'm having a killer time creating ocean inspired decor for other peoples spaces. Do what you're proud of and hopefully make a positive change along the way. May YOU be blessed.

aloha,
Sam

Retro & Restoration Inspired Living

{bigchill.com}  UNREAL!!
Aloha Friday!  Lots of exciting things going on in the  3rd Ave Shore world :)  So I must spill the beans.....Ted and I have been house hunting (*literally hunting!) the past 6 months for the perfect place to start our true (non-rental kind) roots in Hawaii. Well we are now due to close on our first property next month!  We could not be more excited about the property.  It sits on a  good amount of land, pretty original condition (which we love!!), with lovely views of the Waikiki sunsets from our back yard. We are so grateful to have found this home and to be able to call it ours.  Here is some of my inspiration on keeping it retro/vintage.  I must say that we are both not a huge fans of pink, so envision the pink accents in lime or burnt orange.  Oh the joys of decorating in my mind...LOL
Picture to come!!  I'll be sure to post the renovations too (good 'ole sweat equity).

Mahalo for supporting 3rd Ave Shore & handmade,
Sam Hardin

The Voice

The Hubster and I are notorious for enjoying our evenings rather simple. Our evenings begin with taking Gus down to stroll Kailua beach, followed by the grill being  fired up for some good eats and then cruisin' together till we can't keep our eyelids open. Well we were totally posted to The Voice last night, what kept our attention was the amazing talented contestants!!  It was incredible.  To say the least it inspired this post.

We all have a voice!  We are able to voice it in what we buy as consumers, treat others, dress, listen too, put forth, give, receive....etc.  If there is any "ah-ha" moment lesson that I live by it would be this:

All people want from us, is our best.  All that means is to be attentive, genuine and respectful. It's better to be interested then interesting.

Anyway the wind blows, is cool with me

Hope this itty bitty post inspires the voice in you to be your MOST authentic self.

Have a great 4th of July weekend:)

Kailua Classic....

Wow what a weekend!!!  Just dropping some behind the scene action at the shop.

Yes 3rd Ave Shore does create handmade ocean inspired wall decals {and will ship to anywhere in the W O R L D}, but we also believe in working hard and playing harder!  :)  A while back my hubby Ted had a  {Tequila Sunrise Series} Hobie  Catamaran donated to him.   Well after some TLC, it was launched in Lanikai  this past weekend with the help of some great friends.  Teddy named it "Kailua Classic" and you can see why....

I created the name "Kailua Classic"  in our Ocean Blue Matte Vinyl  and partnered it with a fun vintage font.

Are you in need for some marina decals for your boat, catamaran, jet ski, paddle board, surf board??? Message the shop and I'll get started on them....they are too fun and really can make your vessel pop with a one of a kind design or just the name of your cruiser.  Enjoy the ride.

Jaw Dropper....

Aloha!! Hope the weekend is treating you great :) I just had to share the latest and most exciting news around the shop.  As you may know, 3rd Ave Shore was born out of my love for the ocean and goal to put my designs  into affordable wall decals for anybody by the shore or in a big city! Along the way there has been some rad press events and shows for the shop....but NOTHING....NOTHING like what I received yesterday in the mail.  The copy of the Honolulu Aruco Travel Book (geared for the chic traveler in all of us...but for the Japanese vistors!) arrived yesterday.  When I opened it to pg. 69 my jaw dropped.  Literally dropped! They had placed 3rd Ave Shore's page right next to Heather Brown!  I am quite possibly the biggest fan of hers and admire her style to no belief!  She is amazing and also is inspired by Hawaii and the wonderful surf up at North Shore. Just thought I'd share, I think I'll pick my jaw up now and enjoy the moment :)

Dreams do come true,  Sam

Thank you for choosing handmade

A L O H A
Just wanted to take a moment and thank you for supporting handmade {made in the U.S.A.}. Every time someone buys a handmade decal from 3rd Ave Shore, it allows myself to run a passion driven company and happily create swell & ocean inspired wall decals for your pad. Buying handmade is a conscious decision. In my personal life, I support handmade items that come from all over the world because it  supports the many talented people out there who are trying to get started with their business. I find the care and love taken in making everything I buy comes through when I get it. I feel a sense of extra worth and pleasure with each purchase knowing I have helped someone get one step closer to their dream. Supporting each other is after all the most rewarding gift we can give each other.
Here is some insight from SuzyJack {contemporary Eco friendly paper}: Why should one buy handmade?  Because normally, buying handmade does not require fighting for a parking space, having your ears pierced by blaring holiday music, walking around in a daze under fluorescent lights, fighting to push a shopping cart with one bad wheel, or having a cashier you don't know ask for your phone number and zip code.
And one last thing......Because handmade items are what your Great Great Grandma used to buy.
Nicly put :)  Once again, a very warm mahalo (thank you in Hawaiian) for choosing 3rd Ave Shore's handmade wall decalsSam  3rdaveshore.com

Kailua Business Store Fronts

Aloha Friday!  I apologize for the interruption in blog use lately.  I looked at the calendar and was like...November???  Really???

Well I'm sure most of can relate to how fast this year has gone by, and a mighty fine one at that!  Wanted  to keep you updated on the fun projects  3rd Ave Shore has done around the island.

Lanikai Bath & Body was so nice to have me come in and re-vamp their store sections. Immediately entering Lanikai Bath & Body you feel so fresh with the smell of local aroma's in the air.  They carry a wonderful variety of all natural body butters, tropical lotions, handmade soaps, and many other island favorites (even have a doggie section!).  Pretty much 3rd Ave Shore put wall words around the store to help the customers get to know their way around better.  The front windows (which are so nice and huge!!) I added their trademark naupaka flower to the front
windows and split it down the middle so it was showcased in a larger way.

Global Village  is located in the heart of Kailua. It is host (or I should say hostess...because it's family owned and operated by a mother & her 2 daughters)   to some great local finds from Hawaii.  They have a jewelry making section in the back, plenty of fun threads, trinkets,  bags and much more!  It is a wonderful place for shopping and you'll be sure to find clothing for women, men and keiki, as well as a huge selection of must-have accessories and gifts.

3rd Ave Shore was  lucky enough to design the front window decals and inspirations wall words around the dressing room area.It was fun to design and great to service such a fun local shop!

Stay posted for our next projects!  Soon to come..Nohea Galleries.
